Hi there!  I'm LInda Scholz and this is my story! At 27 years old I moved  from Chicago to Grayslake with my husband Mike and 2 year old son Cory. After a year of commuting back to the City daily for my full time job.... my husband might have lightly suggested that I resign and find a hobby to burn up some of my extra energy. I was a baker and deli manager with a headfull of ideas that needed to be expressed...so leaning on that we came up with the initial concept. Incorporated in 1993, the doors to my first store opened on Valentine’s Day 1994. 30 years later I'm still  striving to keep on changing, evolving and showing off my new ideas and I’ll do this as long as I’m still having fun!!!

Somethings Brewing is a family owned business...My son Cory and Husband Mike have now joined me running our two conveniently located Cafes in Grayslake. Featuring a HUGE dine in and take out menu. Handmade bakery pastries. All made on sight daily!! Homemade soups, sandwiches and salads. A full coffee bar stocked with gourmet beans roasted in small batches locally every week and ground to order. Handmade chocolate specialties & toffees. Catering, custom decorated cakes and cookies. Beautiful gift baskets and candy trays.
